Gastroenterology Department

The department of Gastroenterology is well organized with modern facilities where patients comfort and care are primary objective. We perform various diagnostics and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoendoscopic procedures. Both elective and emergency endoscopic procedures are performed in the department. A pre and post procedural consultation is done for all outdoor and indoor patients by our experts.

Therapeutic endoscopic procedures include:

Oesophageal dilatation
Balloon dilatation for achalasia cardia and strictures
Sclerotherapy or glue injection of gastric varices
Variceal band ligation
Polypectomy
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy
Nasojejunal tube placement
Oesophageal, duodenal, colonic, biliary and pancreatic stent placement
Bile duct stone removal
Bleeding lesions and endoscopic mucosal resection of early cancers

Service

Diagnostic procedures performed in our department include: oesophago-gastro- duodenoscopy (OGD), colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy. All therapeutic endoscopic procedures including treatment of bleeding ulcers, bleeding varices, polyp removal, PEG - per cutaneous endoscopic gastro stomy, stent placement in the GI tract and biliary tree, bile duct stone removal, EMR, endoscopic pancreatic pseudo cyst drainage and necrosectomy, foreign body removal, dilatation of strictures etc are performed in the department with a 24 hour availability of specialists for urgent procedures.
